Luz Ardiden

With 60 km of slopes and two ski areas just 12 km from the village of Luz Saint-Sauveur, this is an all-level ski resort with something for everyone.

Looking for steep descents, powder and off-piste? Or just learnt how to snow-plough? There is something for everyone at the foot of the slopes and at the top of the slopes.

Gavarnie

Located in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park and only 30 minutes from Luz Saint-Sauveur, the Gavarnie ski resort is located at an altitude of 1,856 m in an exceptional setting.

Discover a ski area on a human scale in the heart of the Pyrenees, in an extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cradle of Pyrénéisme and heiress of a long mountain tradition, the ski resort of Gavarnie-Gèdre, also called “Espécières”, oozes grandiose high mountain scenery. Surrounded by views of mountain peaks measuring more than 3000 metres, experienced or beginner skiers can head up from Gavarnie Cirque to the highest point in the resort and ski down with ease on the longest green run in the Pyrenees. An ideal family ski holiday in a beautiful natural setting. The ski area caters for all levels, and is surrounded by beautiful landscapes including the world famous, majestic “Brèche de Roland” gap and other peaks over 3,000 metres high!

The Grand Tourmalet

With its 100 km of pistes spread over 300 hectares, snow sports enthusiasts will love Grand Tourmalet (Barèges-La Mongie), the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees.

Let Le Grand Tourmalet seduce you with its snowy landscapes, its fir forests, its mythical mountain pass and the Pic du Midi de Bigorre. As you ski within the resort from one side of the mountain to the other side, the change in landscape and in atmosphere is surprising, and guarantees a pleasant change of scenery. During your holiday or ski weekend in Grand Tourmalet, be sure to make the most of the ski area with its 100 kilometres of skiing spread over 69 runs served by 28 ski lifts and culminating at a height of 2,500 meters above sea level. On the Barèges side, you ski down amongst fir trees surrounded by charming scenery. In La Mongie, the atmosphere is 100% fun, a freerider’s paradise, especially with the Pic du Midi cable car station nearby. There are relaxing moments to be had in Grand Tourmalet too- dine in one of the five high-altitude restaurants, or enjoy unforgettable family adventures: ride a piste basher, sledge down the Tourmalet, enjoy a torchlight descent or a snowmobile ride…
